Quantifying the impact of ecotourism on the sustainability status of coastal communities, and providing a resultant overall picture of their status, provides a dependable foundation in implementing targeted efficient initiatives and programs that would uplift their sustainability status. This helps decision-makers and policymakers in creating appropriate policies to establish sustainable coastal communities. With this, a methodological approach is proposed in this project in order to address the aforementioned issues. With the Philippines at the forefront of climate change impacts, with the tourism industry as an important driver of economic growth, this study is particularly significant to the sustainability of local coastal communities.
